Gigi Qi Chang, a Chinese-born filmmaker currently based in Toronto, Canada, holds an undergraduate degree in Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto and a master's degree in Cinematography from Goldsmiths, University of London.
In her role as a cinematographer, she approaches each project with a passion for refining her visual storytelling skills. She possesses experience in working on films, dramas, documentaries, and fashion films with industry-standard equipment. Her short fiction film, "Birds," has earned recognition at prestigious film festivals, including the Academy Awards-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival, the BIFA-qualifying international film festival EFN Short Film Festival. It also received a nomination in the student drama category at the Royal Television Society Awards and secured the Student Postgraduate Award at the Learning on Screen Awards. Additionally, her short film, "#3099," received the Special Jury Prize Outstanding Award at ISFVF.
In 2022, Gigi ventured into writing and directing with her film "Golden Temple." The film has been officially selected for the 2023 Canadian Screen Award-qualifying film festival, the 23rd Silver Wave Film Festival, Luleå International Film Festival, and continues to make waves on the film festival circuit.
